FTA MUSIC: Edward the Librarian: From The Annex: Episode #43 [02.02.17]

HASH it goes great with eggs and can remind you of a simpler time. Tonight is a bit of a rehash of the Vinyl Purist Radio show I did last Saturday, complete with skipping record... grumble. If you missed out on that show, and my goofy dancing behind the decks check it out. HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gsT9dPWWf4

Besides that this is a political free hour of music. I don't care about your politics, your religion, your DNA on the dance floor of life, that your burden. All I care about is the music and your smiling faces.

This is episode #38. I call out to the community to see what your tracks for 2016 were, I got some great submission from DMV DJ community. Here are the players that sent in their tracks.

JULEZ:
A DC native and D&B devotee who has immersed himself in the world of Jungle/Drum & Bass since 95 by both performing and promoting the sound. This quickly led Miles into DJing the following year, and into Drum n' Bass production in 1998. Having played all over the U.S. and across the Atlantic, he has honed his craft and can move any crowd. He returned to his home state of Virginia to DJ alongside friend and Style Control DJ iLL Omen.
-
SUBMISSION: Bassman, Serum, DJ Sly - Quarterpounder Bass (Serum Remix)

ROBONE:
First gig was in 1995. Joined the Snowball Collective shortly after. Was the first resident at DC's first all jungle/D&B weekly event: Wild Things. DJ'ed through 2001. Took a (long) hiatus. Back now DJing and the mixing / mastering engineer for TRADE CRAFT AUDIO.
 -

The Librarian's resolutions for 2013

I'm glad this year is over. 2012 up in till a month ago was pretty banging but then within the last 4 weeks I've watched life get all turned upside down. ba ha. never a dull moment. Now with the morning sun on my face and the sound of the kettle boiling in the background I'm feeling ready to face off with 2013.

The Librarian's Resolutions for 2013:
------------------------------------------------

001: Once a track had been played (for a show or for a podcast) its thrown into the off limits bin, for the next 6 show.*
002: More podcast shows (at least 12). That's one a month.
003: Focus on finding my sound in production, and have at least one track cut to dubplate.
004: Keep having fun.
005: Play more shows in & outside of NOVA
006: Launch the From the Annex merchandise line. Shirts and Stickers for now

 * my wife recently challenged me to not play the same record twice for 6 shows. She did this because she felt my sound was "played out" and I needed to expand my sound track list. This is why I married her, blunt and honest! So far I have 5 more to go and I've really enjoyed the challenge.

So what are your new years resolutions for 2013? Share them in the comments below.

In the mean time keep smiling
The Librarian
