FTA MUSIC: Freddy Wils & Edward the Librarian: Social Lubrication V:025 [09.27.2013]

JamBrew After Party | 2013 September 27th | Carpool - Herndon, VA

Immediately following the conclusion of the 2013 JamBrew series, the festivities will continue as we celebrate the wrap of another great year of concerts. Tribalistix Movement will host the official JamBrew After Party throw down. And if you've been to any of Tribalistix parties, you know how this will go down! Special guests will be popping up here and there to play music, tell jokes or demonstrate their particular talents in art.

Edward the Librarian & Freddy Wils
"Social Lubrication Live: Audio Conversation in SKA"

This was our first time bring Social Lubrication out to the public, and besides the fact that I needed to be the designated driver afterwards. Now we just need to find a quality dive bar in DC, Alexandria or Arlington to host Social Lubrication from on a regular basis.

Big ups to BlazeOne, Tribialstix, OSO-FRESH,Vico, and Carpool for having us out, and making us feel at home.

The Librarian's resolutions for 2013

I'm glad this year is over. 2012 up in till a month ago was pretty banging but then within the last 4 weeks I've watched life get all turned upside down. ba ha. never a dull moment. Now with the morning sun on my face and the sound of the kettle boiling in the background I'm feeling ready to face off with 2013.

The Librarian's Resolutions for 2013:
------------------------------------------------

001: Once a track had been played (for a show or for a podcast) its thrown into the off limits bin, for the next 6 show.*
002: More podcast shows (at least 12). That's one a month.
003: Focus on finding my sound in production, and have at least one track cut to dubplate.
004: Keep having fun.
005: Play more shows in & outside of NOVA
006: Launch the From the Annex merchandise line. Shirts and Stickers for now

 * my wife recently challenged me to not play the same record twice for 6 shows. She did this because she felt my sound was "played out" and I needed to expand my sound track list. This is why I married her, blunt and honest! So far I have 5 more to go and I've really enjoyed the challenge.

So what are your new years resolutions for 2013? Share them in the comments below.

In the mean time keep smiling
The Librarian

11.27.2009 Throwing Bombs at your RSS Feeds

From the Annex is reshuffling its RSS feeds.(sorry)

This may seem like I have thrown a bomb into your RSS feed but I swear it will make it that much easier for you all. Here is how, I've separated out the three radio shows that From the Annex is producing into 3 separate RSS feeds.

Thus now you can subscribe to Social Lubrication, Rusty Junglist or RE:Issue individually. Thus refine your listening enjoyment and now I have more storage space for these upcoming shows.

What will happen to the current RSS feed you have for Edward the Librarian? Well let me tell you, I've got plans to reconfigure that RSS feed for music/product reviews plus "Adventures in the Annex" (a sort of step by step guides of how to do random fun things in your own personal annex).

Anyways on to the music!

Social Lubrication:

Now I will continue posting on From the Annex every time their is a new show. Plus I will be relinking the previous posting to these new locations. (Please note if you find a bunk link email me)

I hope this reshuffling will make your listening enjoyment more enjoyable. On a final note MAXIMUM RESPECT TO Pod O Matic.com. Those cats make all this possible.

Cheers

Background Story:
Gather around all you rug cutters, let me tell you about where these mighty fine records came from. Back in a small town very near and dear to my hart lives my old graphic design professor, Karen Nulf. Karen is a jet setter, always roaming from here to there and when I was living in town I would often house/puppy sit. (man do I miss that house and dog) Anyways Karen would pay me in vinyl. An inch of vinyl for each house sitting job. I was in heaven. Over the years I've listened to most of not all of the records I had collected back then but a few have managed to escape my listening pleasure. So tonight we will be rooting around in this amazing cache of vinyl.

But before we get started lets play a nice dance track I found hanging around my stacks. This is the track that got me in the mood to knock out this set.

Keep Smiling
