FTA MUSIC: Edward the Librarian: From The Annex: Episode #44 [02.09.17]

Story time kidos, in the early 2000's I was a partner in crime for Annihilation Records in Athens Ohio. Buy this I mean I did graphics, hauled gear, threw parties, bought records and helped with inventory with DJ Redshift / Ian. Fresh back from a year in Europe collecting tunes I found myself chasing this sound. It was "hardcore jungle" or "raggacore" or whatever other names it was called it was a west coast sound (I say west coast because of N20 records, I later learned this was not fully correct). It was drum technical and the bass-lines would often take a back seat, the energy of the community felt like old school hip hop. What does this have to with anything?

This is a love letter to those days. Redshift where ever you are (Northern California?) this is a hat tip to you. Fire it up!

Big ups to Labelless Records, Asbo Records, Vinyl Syndicate Recordings, X-13 Recordings, Planet Mu, Rewind Records, Dub Fi Dub, and finally big ups to Top Ranking Records.

Like clock work you can find us here every Thursday nights from 10pm - 11pm on WERA 96.7 FM, broadcasting Jungle, Drum & Bass, Dub & Dance Hall to the Nations capital (DC).

FTA MUSIC: Edward the Librarian: From The Annex: Episode #43 [02.02.17]

HASH it goes great with eggs and can remind you of a simpler time. Tonight is a bit of a rehash of the Vinyl Purist Radio show I did last Saturday, complete with skipping record... grumble. If you missed out on that show, and my goofy dancing behind the decks check it out. HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gsT9dPWWf4

Besides that this is a political free hour of music. I don't care about your politics, your religion, your DNA on the dance floor of life, that your burden. All I care about is the music and your smiling faces.
